Kami Apparel intertwines the elegance of traditional Japanese culture with the vibrancy of contemporary fashion, creating a unique narrative with each piece. Born from a love for storytelling through textiles, our Barcelona-based brand is a homage to sustainable fashion, infused with the essence of Ukiyo-e, Shintoism, Buddhism, and Irezumi. Our commitment to "0KM" local production reflects our dedication to quality, sustainability, and community support, embodying a fashion philosophy that respects both heritage and the environment.
In 2023 we launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter called "The Dawn of Wabori", introducing our inaugural collection of silk and cotton Hawaiian shirts, under the creative guidance of Sen Kawamura, a Japanese artist based in Barcelona. We celebrated a successful campaign that resonated with backers worldwide, marking the beginning of our journey to redefine fashion with a blend of art, culture, and eco-conscious practices.
At Kami Apparel, our "0KM" commitment ensures that our products are locally produced, supporting Barcelona's artisans and minimizing our environmental impact. This approach reflects our dedication to quality, sustainability, and nurturing local talent and economies, making each purchase a testament to conscious consumption and support for community-based craftsmanship.
